City of Belfast Golf Club

Belfast Golf Course, formerly known as Mallusk Golf Club, has a rich history dating back to 1985, when it was opened by Former Open Champion winner Fred Daly. The club has since become a popular destination for golf enthusiasts in Northern Ireland. In 1993, the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI) officially accepted the club into its ranks, recognizing the high quality of its facilities and the caliber of its members.

In 2005, the membership of Mallusk Golf Club took the bold step of changing the club's name to the City of Belfast Golf Club, reflecting its growing reputation as one of the premier golfing destinations in the region. At the same time, the club took control of the course and clubhouse at Mallusk under a facilities management agreement with Belfast City Council, ensuring that the facilities would be maintained to the highest possible standards for years to come.

Over the years, the course has undergone a number of changes and improvements, including the introduction of a new Par 4 signature 3rd Hole in 2007. This challenging new hole not only tests the skills of even the most experienced golfers, but also grants additional yardage to the course. In 2009, the club achieved another major milestone by extending the 8th hole by 120 yards and creating a new tee box, thereby adding a new 484-yard Par 5 to the course and increasing the competition course Par to 67.

The club has also made significant investments in its facilities, culminating in the completion of a new built-for-purpose clubhouse pavilion in October 2014. This state-of-the-art facility has been a tremendous success, providing golfers with the perfect place to relax and unwind off the course after an excellent round of parkland golf.

If you're interested in playing at Belfast Golf Course, you'll be pleased to know that no handicap or certificate is required. The course is a parkland-type layout with a length of 5,146 yards and a Par of 67. For the latest fees and information on the best days to play, be sure to contact the club directly. With its rich history, stunning scenery, and world-class facilities, Belfast Golf Course is a must-visit destination for golfers of all levels.
