Ashfield Golf Course

Ashfield Golf Course was officially opened by the legendary championship golfer, Fred Daly M.B.E., on Friday, 28th September 1990. The course was designed by Frank Ainsworth, a member of the prestigious Malone Golf Club in Belfast, and the land was converted from an arable farming set up. Since 1992, the course has been affiliated with the Golfing Union of Ireland (G.U.I.), and it has continuously improved over the years to become one of the best courses in South Armagh.

Located in the heart of South Armagh, Ashfield Golf Course is approximately an hour's drive from both Dublin Airport and Belfast, making it easily accessible to both locals and visitors. Thousands of trees have been planted on the course from a wide variety of species, new lakes have been added, and the greens have matured, all aimed at enhancing the challenge and enjoyment of the game.

The course measures 5,606 yards and has a par of 69. The signature hole is undoubtedly the 6th, measuring 194 yards, with a green that is well-protected by water, requiring careful club selection. The tee boxes have been enlarged to cater to players of all skill levels, and the course provides a challenging yet enjoyable game for golfers.

The clubhouse at Ashfield Golf Course offers full catering facilities for visitors, and societies are always welcome. The club fees vary depending on the season, and visitors are advised to contact the club for the latest fees and best days to play.
